Commonly known as “String of Bananas”, this popular succulent is native to South Africa. It grows as long trailing stems with characteristically banana-shaped blue-green leaves. Its flowers are small and white and bloom in late Winter to early Spring. It makes an excellent groundcover in a garden or rockery, and is well suited to a container, but shows to best advantage in a hanging basket. It likes a part or dappled shade position with some direct sunlight in well-draining soil. If grown indoors then provide plenty of good light. Water regularly, allowing to dry out inbetween waterings, and keep drier in Winter. Protect from heat and frost.
