Native to Argentina, this cactus grows close to the ground and has a diameter of about 5 cm. It may grow as a solitary stem or in clumps. It has a lovely yellow flowers which bloom in Summer. A hardy and easy-to-grow plant, it requires a well-draining soil and is frost tolerant. It has a large taproot and so requires a deep pot if grown in a container.
