This caudiciform plant is perfect for those who like something a little different. Prized for the interesting shape of its caudex, which can grow from 30 to 60cm in diameter, it makes a fascinating feature plant. In the wild the caudex would be buried, but it is kept exposed in cultivation. The vining branches can grow to 80cm in length and will climb any support. Deciduous, it will lose most of its leaves in Winter. Easy to grow and hardy, it likes a well-draining soil and can be grown in the sun or part shade and is tolerant of light frost. Give fertilizer and regular watering in Summer, and keep dry in Winter. Protect the caudex from too much heat.
