This small, slow-growing cactus is native to Chile. It has a diameter of about 3 cm and its pinkish flowers are about 5 cm long. It prefers a sunny position in well-draining soil, and should be watered carefully to avoid rot. It is frost tolerant when dry. It has a large taproot so needs to be grown in a deep container.
