A very popular cactus from South America with stems about 10-15 cm in length and 1.2 cm in diameter. The flowers are orangey-red in colour and bloom in late Spring to early Summer. It is a hardy plant, tolerant of frost, and likes a sunny position in well-draining soil. It grows well in pots and hanging baskets, and is suitable for indoors.
