This beautiful Mexican cactus is known for the magenta-red colouration of its spines and its lovely showy flowers. It grows in a clump up to 25 cm in height and 60 cm across, with individual stems being about 7 cm in diameter. It prefers a sunny position in well-draining soil with good ventilation. Water regularly in Summer and keep dry in Winter.
