Hardy succulent plants of the Bromeliad family, and related to pineapples, Dyckias grow as spiny rosettes and produce flowers that are yellow to orange in colour.  They enjoy a well-drained sunny position in the garden and do extremely well in pots.  Easy to grow and tough, with low water requirements, Dyckias are a fascinating archictectural plant that are particularly suited to containers or rockeries.
