Closely related to Lithops, Pleiospilos is a genus of small succulent plants from South Africa. The name means "many dots" and refers to the speckled leaves. They have short (or underground) stems and up to four pairs of fleshy leaves. They like to grow in a sunny position in well-draining soil and make an interesting feature plant in a shallow container.
